Sindh visions that kicked off, and re-shaped the world today

How Jinnah, GM Syyed and Soriyah Badshash are the iconic heroes of collective South Asian history?

And, how Xi Jiping earned Mao Zedong status in Chinese Communist Party by declaring Sindh's Silk Route / One Belt One Road his own vision!

By Zulfiqar Shah

Pakistan today international and within Pakistan is known as a den of terrorism and victimization of non-Muslims in the name of Islam. Pakistan was not bound to be like this when it was founded, nor such state-system was envisioned by the founders of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah (M. A. Jinnah), his All India Muslims League and Sindh Muslim League. Pakistan, as envisioned by M. A. Jinnah in 1940, was to be European Union like "grouping" or block of the countries that are unfortunately called provinces in Pakistan. Almost 60 years before formation of European Union, Sindhi Jinnah's vision was to form such kind of union named Pakistan. This of his vision was resolutated by a convention of All India Muslim League on March 23, 1940 in Lahore, which is called Lahore Resolution of 1940: The resolution reads:

"Resolved that it is the considered view of this Session of the All-India Muslim League that no constitutional plan would be workable in this country or acceptable to the Muslims unless it is designed on the following basic principles, viz., that geographically contiguous units' are demarcated into regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of India should be grouped to constitute "independent States" in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign.

That adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards should be specifically provided in the constitution for minorities in these units in the regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights and interests in consultations with them and in other parts of India where the Mussalmans are in a majority."

It was the first ever vision in the world, after United Nations, to form continental or sub-continental / regional blocks.

Meanwhile, his comrade G. M. Syyed was the first in the British Empire India who tabled a resolution in Sind Legislative Assembly for declaring Sindh an independent nation-state out of British India, which Sindh Assembly passed and declared Sindh an independent country. This great act against colonialism of South Asian history has hitherto never written. Sindh was the first province / country of South Asia that through its parliament declared itself a country outside British Empire, and was second country after America that separated itself from British Empire. This has not been mentioned in our human history. This Sind Legislative Assembly resolution of March 3, 1943 reads:

"This House recommends to Government to convey to His Majesty's Government through His Excellency the Viceroy, the sentiments and wishes of the Muslims of this Province that whereas Muslims of India are a separate nation possessing religion, philosophy, social customs, literature, traditions, political and economic theories of their own, quite different from those of the Hindus, they are justly entitled to the right, as a single, separate nation, to have independent national states of their own, carved out in the zones where they are in majority in the sub-continent of India.

Wherefore they emphatically declare that no constitution shall be acceptable to them that will place the Muslims under a Central Government dominated by another nation, as in order to be able to play their part freely on their own distinct lines in the order of things to come, it is necessary for them to have independent National States of their own and hence any attempt to subject the Muslims of India under one Central Government is bound to result in Civil War with grave unhappy consequences." (Proceedings of the Sindh Legislative Assembly, Official Report, Vol. XVII-No.6, Wednesday 3rd March, 1943, Karachi on  www.pas.gov.pk)

Sindh through Sindh Army also joined Second World War and had alliance with Axis Forces under Pir Pagaro Sorihya Badshah in 1942-43. At the same time, India (Hind) also joined the war and allied with Axis Forces under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Indian National Army (INA). A Sindhi of Punjabi origin Molana Obaidullah Sindhi was civil leader of Government of India in Exile at Kabul, Afghanistan. He was Home Minister of the Government of Exile and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was Commander of INA. Sindh and Hind (India) lost the war against Great Britain. This chapter of world as well as South Asian history has not been narrated in fullest. In Sindh and Hind wars against British Empire, Sindh Army could liberate district Sanghar for one year and formed government named Sanghar Sarkar that was having ministries, taxation system and judiciary that fell again to Britain.

In the contemporary times, China's ambitious One Road, One Belt (OBOR) plan, a road, maritime and railways infrastructure network that would encompass sixty countries and will require the infrastructure investment of US$ 4 to 8 trillion. Chinese President Xi Jipping falsely claim this continuation China's historical Silk Route.

Historically Silk Route belongs to Sindh, which for centuries China, Afghanistan, today's India, Central Asia and Russia were using for the trade. This truth is well document in the books of history and are available in the Oxford University Press, UK's published books' catalogues. In fact, China should mention it historical One Belt One Road of Kingdom of Sindh. The slain ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, a Sindhi, wanted this re-initiate this historical One Belt, One Route of Sindh in 1996, named it Keti Bandar Project, Punjab security establishment of Pakistan forced to reject this. Later on, all of sudden China's Xi Jiping came with the same idea and earned status of Mao Zedong in the Communist Party of China due to Sindh's historical by claiming the concept of One Belt, One Road / Silk Route.
